The Consul General visited Las Vegas to participate in the “Ridma” Festival - a concert organized by the Sri Lanka America Association in Las Vegas held on Saturday, 28 March 2026.
The event brought together members of the Sri Lankan community in a celebration of culture and unity.
During the visit, the Consul General had the pleasure of meeting with the President of the Sri Lanka America Association of Las Vegas (SLAALV), Nevada, as well as several respected religious leaders who attended the festival.
On Sunday, 29 March 2026, the Consul General visited the Nevada Buddhist Viharaya and met with the Chief Incumbent, Ven. Welipathayaye Deepananda Thero and Ven. Akurugoda Punna Thero along with devoted well-wishers of the temple.
On this meaningful occasion, the Venerable Nayaka Thero graciously handed over a generous donation of USD 10,737.45, collected by members of the Sri Lankan community and the Cricket Association of Las Vegas, in support of the “Re-Building Sri Lanka Fund.”
The Consulate General warmly appreciates this heartfelt gesture of solidarity and generosity extended towards Sri Lanka.
